Which crossmember do you speak of? I've only ever worked on trucks with the 46k lb Airliner suspension. IIRC none of the suspension parts were attached to a crossmember. The torque arms were positioned laterally from diff housing to frame rail.

Got my trailer all hooked up and ready to roll in the A.M. Shop called me this afternoon and said my new rails and inserts are done. Get them home tomorrow afternoon and then set up a day with the welder to come and piece it all together.

Had to sciffer on that for a while. Jeffrow Bodean ( Beverly Hill Billies ) and I came from the same area. How is it possible I could say something the others do not understand?
Totally unrelated if any of you are unaware look on line about fires in Canada. Pray for rain and other help, if you do not believe in prayer make a wish. Thank you!
NM: Please excuse me for not being clear. I was slow to answer because you caused me to question myself.
The suspension is not normally connected to the X-member ( Hendrickson? ) however most suspensions have an x-member between the suspension brackets.
This maybe going out of line for this post and you might start another one. Frame alterations? But I will be glad to share what I know here.
The mention on the Kodiac air ride was on the cab.

I see what you mean about the crossmembers. phpThumb.jpg

I've got enough crossmember parts kicking around plus the welder has a guy who kind of works for him here and there who is set up to weld aluminum. I'm sure between the 3 of us we can come up with something that looks good and works well.

    BoxCarKidd Thanks this.

Did some more cab gutting today. Not much left in there anymore. Can't believe how simple it was to pull the heater core. Even if the truck was together it's probably only a 30 minute job.
