I honestly have no idea. I see complete axles with brakes and hub pilots online at the wreckers for $1,000 or less so I don't know if I could do all that work to mine for that or less.

1980. 375 Cat 3406. RTO15615 transmission. Original rears were 5.29 Rockwell SSHD 44K lbs on rubber block. Those got scrapped for a single 3.73 Rockwell 20k lb on Freightliner Airliner.

Not sure how I didn't know of the existence of this thread before, but wow, love seeing this thing come together.

Hopefully I'll have some more updates in a couple days. All depends if I can line up a crane or if the weather's good for golfing :biggrin_2559:

Well I think that's it for this go-around. Got the engine on a nice, sturdy stand. After a good cleaning it'll be ready for a poor man's overhaul over the winter. Took some measurements for air tanks and fuel tank.

Also noticed that my driver's side rail is already pre-drilled for 1 fuel tank bracket. I have 4 fuel tank brackets...... Debating if I should run dual tanks or just the original single tank on the passenger side.

May look naked with only one tank. You could always hang a stepped tool/battery box instead of fuel tank on one side

    Tug Toy Thanks this.
