My SIL worked for conoco phillips on the slope and they furnished all the tools.
I knew of a shop on I 40 in new mexico that furnished their techs tools, they kept an inventory and the techs had to replace anything that came up missing.

I will be watching your thread, I have 82 A model, that is a heavily loaded truck for the time I hope to one day redo, I want say restore, because I will be using some later model rears and suspension I have and haven't decided, but may go with an electronic engine too.

    So update time:

6 liners are out, block is off the stand and on jackstands. Block looks good so far. On the hunt for a machine shop to hot tank the block and head. Just working on getting a parts list together so I can get a quote done up. Going to leave the engine PCTA and get the pump turned down to the factory 375 hp rating.

Pre Chamber Turbo Aftercooled. Some 3406A's got converted to DITA (Direct Injected Turbo Aftercooled).

I think the later As were DI because one that I drove, and the one I bought both had DITA Cat stickers on them.

Edit to add: Neither of them had had glow plugs or the corresponding switch in the cab.

    AModelCat Thanks this.

Yep. I'd have to check SIS but I think they made the change to factory DITA about 2500 engines after mine. You lost the glow plugs if you converted.
