Not sure on the 3408s, but I imagine at the same time as the 06s.

The first Bs that I remember was 84, and the first ATAAC in 86 maybe?

I remember some of the last 359s were ATAAC, and they quit those in 86 and a half didn't they?

Almost bought a used one, but thought it was time to grow up and chase mileage. Bought an 89 t600 instead. Good truck, but #### hindsight!

I thout 87 was the first ataac was the first ones, last year of the 359, but I could be wrong.

A few years ago I went down to anchorage and got a 359 with a V8 fired up that a friend was wanting to buy, he bought it and I drug it back for him. As far as I know it was never started again, until a month or so ago and another friend traded him an gold eagle for it, that I had tried hard to trade him out of. he has been working on it, now it looks like my neighbor may be buying it, his wife has a wrecker business and he wants it to pull a landoll with. The same guy has an old pete with a buzzin dozen, but it wound up with some log gear on it and we barged it down to Icy Bay.

There is no cut and dry date, there were DIs being made along side of PCTA engines.

I have looked at a 78 that was ordered with a low hp(400) 3408 which is a DIT, for the year it should not be a direct injection but all of the trucks ordered in that group were built with DIs.

Crank and cam look good. Crank journals need a polish and that should be it. 20190608_112004.jpg
