Another piece removed. Its crazy to think it but I'm at like the halfway point in this project. Torn down completely and now its time to go back together! 20190817_124015.jpg

No updates doesn't neccessarily mean no progress. Block, crank and cam checked out. Most all bottom end parts are on order. Crank has never been ground, main bores never machined and the bore is still aligned. Hot tanked/crack checked. Couple thou shaved off the deck to clean up some minor pitting. New frost plugs in the block, all 6 liner seal bores cut/sleeved. New cam bearings installed. Dressed up in CAT Power Module White. 20191020_122745.jpg

    Looks sweet.
I am anticipating the day you put it all back together again. Perhaps less than you, but nevertheless

There's a steel plate called a spacer plate that sits on top of the block deck. The bolts are holding it and the liners down. CAT uses a special fibre washer under the bolts so it doesn't damage the liner flange or the spacer plate.

I’m not sure what I’m looking forward to more, seeing the finished truck hopefully NOT with daylight doors, or hearing the engine music. :)

1951 ford and Bean Jr. Thank this.
