Mine was factory white. It was a Paccar thing in that era.

Peterbilt painted them "white" longer. Up until 85ish, so yes a B could be white.

B models were white up until 88 give or take. No one is really certain. I had an 88 with a white 4MG in it.

To qoute my Dad. "The difference in a white CAT and yellow CAT is you can make that white son of .......run"

I drove a white 360 HP - A model in a '79 International. A big cam Cummins would beat it bad off the line at a stop light. The Cat was rattling and trying to spool up with every gear change. But once you got in high gear, the first hill you hit the Cummins was behind you.

I had an 88 379 with a 4MG that was factory white. I have never had any luck though getting when the change over was made exactly. I have seen 88's with factory yellow engines too

Engines in Pete’s could be both white or yeller between the transition years of ‘83-‘85. After sometime in ‘85 they gave up completely on white and went back to the vendor colors and white was no longer done.

My buddy could punch the ridges in with his Trumpf turret punch. I’ll be down in Florida in a couple weeks where he is if you still need pieces.

I'm a long way away from working on this thing. I'll be lucky to put hands on it for at least a few more months.

Take a picture of what you need when it’s handy with some measurements

He makes stuff for me for no charge all the time.

I give him a hand in the shop spraying parts when he needs me so not a big deal .

650cat425 and Bean Jr. Thank this.
