Scale Dodging ticket

A few years ago we regularly hauled these 19.5’ wide multi-million dollar airplane wings from OK to GA through Arkansas across us 278. 4 pilot cars and no police escorts.

There was one state police officer that loved to pull us over and check everyone’s license and insurance, my truck/ trailer inspection, and permit. On us278 that for the most part has no shoulder. So we would stop right in the middle of the road. #### sure ain’t wheeling that load off in the ditch for a paperwork check.

 

I drove a ready mix truck for a bit and we had bridge masters for the heavier loads. The young guy that inherited the company slept with a DOT officers wife. We had to go around scales and any time they saw the bridge master down the would always stop us because they knew we were heavy. The company paid for any issues no questions asked lol.
