If your stuck then sometimes different things happen, you have a chance to move the load or have someone else do it. All depends on the situation.
-
When you're over gross too huh?
-
Not going to get too far then without a ticket unless you can remove part of the load to make it legal, lived in Virginia and drove so different things can happen.
Sometimes you get a ticket and have to lighten a load, have been given a overload ticket and told I could go on also. -

Don't flip the scale master off.
mje Thanks this. -
This is so true.If you run across LA and see flashing lights the scales are closed. In TX and several other states it means come on in! It can be overwhelming to a guy just starting out. Most of this shpould have been covered by your trainer. Of course the things trainers don't tell or know is a subject for another thread. Just watch the signs and you will get the hang of it all. Be safe and welcome to the industry!

I didn't see it mentioned , so if you have to weigh on the static scale in IL, you are supposed to split the drives on a tandem drive axle at the line, sometimes set off with a cone. The scales that don't have weigh in motion available will sometimes give the green before you stop if you are light, but they want to weigh each axle of the drives if you are close to gross rating on the load.
I don't know how they would do a tridem or more axles, never had the occasion to ask anyone or watch.
There are other states splitting the tandems now too, but I don't recall which . -
Some scales in Missouri will and Tennessee will also at times
