Everything is recorded but they dont look that deep.. UNLESS ur log book looks sketchy as. hell.. how do i know? Well it just happen to one of our drivers he messed up on one line, and they searched deeper into it and when they seen he was 2 hours over, because he pushed his log book back they went through it with a comb after.. pre pass is nice but if ur company goes into the red then they take them away

Some states like here in NY, and Michigan use weigh -in-motion, there are wireless sensors built into the road, and you do not see them except there may be an electrical box sitting in the median. you wont know its there until you see a state police suv sitting in the median, shooting radar, looking for evildoers, flat tires, lights out, etc. and he has the laptop up and reading those sensors as well. Basically these days if you are taking a side road, or a freeway that doesnt have a weigh/inspection area, and you think you are going to sneak by the DOT or any scales, WRONG. I know in this state i have seen them go into rest/parking area, whip out a couple of signs(they also have scale pads in those suv's), pull trucks in, then gather everything up and move to another spot.

Anyone who runs the area enough knows where the high speed scales are and knows how to get around them. What's amusing about MI is they weigh multi-axle trucks with single axle portable scales, had one do one of my trucks in Monroe. A 5yr old can cheat those.
