So if I get a ticket for 6 over, but there is no inspection -- no csa points? Doesn't seem likely...

If you get pulled over for speeding you get csa points even if its only a written warning.

Only if an inspection was done and the speeding violation was listed on the inspection report will you get CSA points.

If you get a speeding or any other ticket and no inspection was done you only get the ticket points on your license... no CSA points.

Read the regulations don't listen to the truckstop lawyers.

You are incorrect. I am speaking from experience. Warnings will get you csa points.

Me thinks some of yall respond w/out reading--The ONLY WAY YOU AN GET CSA POINTS is on an INSPECTION FORM--and Points are issued weather the infraction/violation shows as a violation or a warning--BUT ONLY ON INSPECTION FORM--
If you get atopped for a moving violation and cited or warned it does not get CSA points--but you can get points against your CDL--2 different things

CSA points are ONLY assigned off of an inspection form and a warning ticket can be listed on the form... you can also get points for violations that you aren't cited for.

Q: Will violations, citations, or warnings issued against a driver while driving his/her personal vehicle be placed into the driver's data in CSA?
A: No. The only data that will be placed into the CSA database related to drivers will be violations noted on a roadside inspection report (this is only completed when a commercial vehicle and/or the driver of a commercial vehicle is inspected) and crashes that the driver is involved in while operating a commercial vehicle.

That's right, warnings will get you points. I got pulled over for an INOP headlamp and was given a written warning. 6 point violation. Check out the site below from the CSA. It has a list of violations and their severity.

Wrong. An inop headlamp can produce CSA points if it was noted in a inspection by a DOT official. If it was just a local LEO, no CSA points will be issued as these cops don't have the authority.

Just because you got a ticket doesn't automatically conclude it's getting added to CSA. It HAS TO BE FROM AN INSPECTION (bolded for emphasis, not yelling).

State law cannot triumph federal law. That has double jeopardy written all over it.
