He's mistaken... no inspection no points plain and simple.
What likely happened is that previously in Fla overweight was a $ only ticket and now it's a points on your DL violation.

Yes warnings at least for now will get you points BUTTTTT ONLY IF LISTED ON THE DOT INSPECTION FORM, NOT FROM A PAPER TICKET.......I CAN'T STATE IT ANY MORE CLEARLY.
NOW, JJ Keller has gotten into the act and is sucking $$ from these carriers by coming up with their own data base that is piggybacked to various law enforcement databases as well as the DOT/FMCSA system and company and insurance reporting. They have developed a Company based CSA scoring system and is selling this program to whomever is buying just like their safe driving programs, all to show the feds what a good little carrier we are and how proactive we are with our drivers. This company CSA system can be based on any type of violation you get and the company will translate the violation into one of their categories as they see fit and issue you company CSA points whether or not it actually costs you points in the FMCSA system......HOWEVER THESE DO NOT SHOW UP ON YOUR FMCSA SCORE AS THE REAL CSA SCORES CAN ONLY BE RECORDED ONCE AGAIN AS VIOLATIONS THAT SHOW UP ON A DOT INSPECTION FORM. Carriers are using the JJ Keller program to scare drivers into compliance and to get rid of those who don't or have ongoing issues.......so to wrap it up a carrier can have 2 CSA reporting programs going on at once and you will never know it unless you ask, and they don't have to tell you. One company program through JJ Keller and then the actual program through FMCSA. We have this at LS and personally I think it's a load of BS but they post both their numbers and your actual numbers that the Feds see. Best thing is to access the CSA2010 site and check your own numbers yourself and see if it matches with what the company is telling you. I used to know what it was but LS posts a link to it now for us.fuzzeymateo Thanks this. -
Good to know. It seems there is a lot of confusion In law enforcement as well. When I asked the officer if the inop headlight warning would show up on my csa he told me he didn't know! I just figured it would because it was noted on the inspection and i was right....unfortunately.
