Had the DPF get packed with soot out of nowhere last week. Luckily there was a shop nearby that was able to force a regen and that got me rolling.
my Cummins X15 has 360,000 on it and I want to do an “EGR tune up” and narrow down the underlying issue before it happens again.
so, I’m looking for a scan tool to check all the parameters and stuff and be able to force a regen on my own.
Any recommendations on a software or scan tool that will do all the good stuff would be appreciated.

The OTR tool is good.
4wayflashers and The_vett Thank this. -
I have the original OTR tool. They have several updated versions that you can connect with your phone. If I was to upgrade, I would go with the laptop set up, less the subscription unless needed.

I've had the scan tool from Harbor freight for about 2 yrs now and been pretty happy with it. Scans code and does forced regens, was $300 I think when I got it.
