Thanks for that! How about the t-cab models? I remember when I was in Delaware, and I was quite surprised to be a Scania T-Cab pulling a container trailer. Turns out they tried breaking into this market in the mid-to-late 1980s, and it was an older style T-cab. Do you have anything on the dates and progressions of those body styles?

I don't really see how it's surprising, seeing as US truck manufacturers gave up on that market here.

It's been 8 or 10 years, but I used to see two Scanias (silver with black, maybe?) from time to time, hauling garbage in NJ on I-78. Also used to see one hauling tree length in the Woodland, ME area. Next best thing to seeing a shined up Marmon, for me.

scania.jpg If you waste enough time on computer, you'll find everything. I've actually seen it (or one like this) sometimes last century.

I think the cab over is still more ugly than that conventional. The cab over looks as if it would turn over the first time you went around a corner.

Sorry dude, don't get on too much didn't see your post til now, yeah they tried but they had problems from the start, no real dealer network, only scanias own components (no option for cat or cummins etc), too heavy, too expensive and poor parts availability. That said anyone that had them liked them for their comfort, ease of use and build quality although somethought it would have been better sacrifice some of that build quality to make them lighter. I wonder was that why the v8 wasn't sold there?

The progression was the same for the t cab as the coes , tcabs were the same truck with a longer chassis, the cab pushed back and a hood bolted to the front
