this is passenger bench for tank crew bunk for driver, if he will ever need it is above
maybe this two images from my last post are not in this truck
maybe it have 3seats on front and 3 on rear instead of bench
look here norweigan r730 8x8 have crew cab longer for 4ft it have bench on rear wall like this and two additional seats behind front seats but in other direction
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...hteen-wheelers/108110-scania-v8-730hp-60.html
norweigan from link above have similar cab to this layout except it is higher 31cm on bottom and 24cm on top and generation younger (difference is 610mm or 2feets)

Ahhhh. Gotch ya. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

your are welcome
as you can see this german solution to put bench inside normal cab is more simpler and cheaper instead of crew cab -
They cruisin in luxury.

germans not but it is enough cab is air suspended on four point both front axles are air suspended so it is not problem
look at this truck do you believe that there is same bench inside and total crew of 6 mans , truck was bodybuilded in croatia for bosnia , with shortened wheelbase for work in narrow mountain part of capital
they chose scania because it could only get small turning radius best stability and shortest wheelbase on market with max crew members
price was 170 000$

really I sugest cabovers are not good for military use becouse when mine explodes under steer wheel driver ore passanger are killed. That's why russians discontinued shishiga, and that's why they do not use cabover trucktors on roads that may dangerouse with mines.

i find out that they used to have 3500-3900-4100wheelbase and they were almost all with front leaf suspension
now they have 3300-3550-3900
here is first wsk scania from bauma 2001

king Q Thanks this. -
OK but how much torque does an everyday run-of -the-mill pickup produce reliably? We have American pickups here and they are notoriously underpowered given their huge engine capacities ! Not to mention gas guzzlers, give an 8 litre engine to a European manufacturer and see how much power they could squeez out of one. You are comparing a competition vehicle to a working truck which has to be reliable, long lasting and very efficient, put 350,000+ lbs behind your pickup and see how well it will go! It would most likely disintegrate on take off

Since I sold my own truck I've been driving a heavy haul r620, it's on steel front and back with a straight front axle, i think that's standard on them despite the fact with the topline cab it's 4.1 meters high, the newer one is on air at the rear but steel on the front with a straight axle too, the boss says front air wasn't available to him when he bought it
