    And let's face it. If you listen to the LE freqs long enough, you'll eventually hear something #### funny.

    Any 2 meter antenna should work fine to receive VHF.

    If you just want to listen, there's no need to trim. if you want to transmit, then you will need to trim, that is if you're going to indeed use a 102 whip with a 2 meter radio.
