By the way Ironpony,,,I did qualify those "farmer's daughters" as looking like the dancers on DWTS,,,I'm just sayin'!

Hello and welcome!
All I can say is Lot of practice and hang in there. I was about ready to quit my self the first month....that or strangle my trainer. But with practice I got the hang of things and now I love what I do. -
When I went through basic training in the Army,,,we had fat guys who'd never played sports,,,they were momma's boys,,,they complained a lot,,,and basically,,they often made ME have to do pushups!
Since beginning this journey with Swift, I'm often reminded that it all seems very much like the military.
~ You join up
~ You go to training
~ You are tested
~ You either pass or fail.
The guys who passed were everything from "average" to "stellar".
The guys who failed were typically guys I didn't like for one reason or another. I hope to post to this FORUM as a licensed and working driver who made it through school,,,through mentorship,,,maybe even training others. That's my hope -
Thanks Svoray!

Lol, in your Swift vs military comparison, don't forget the part about the recruiters promising you rainbows and roses.
lil may Thanks this. -
But, but... THEY TOLD ME, it'd be all rainbows and roses!!!
Here... let me rearrange the fake roses they gave me, and spray another instant rainbow out there! -
As others have said, it's rough when you start and you'll want to quit but, hang in there--it gets better.
My advice would be to make sure you have the best possible directions you can get. Look up the address on your computer or smartphone and if it looks like it will be tricky to find, call the customer and ask for truck-friendly local directions.
Get a GPS! Even a car GPS works fine if you just check out the road before you turn on to it to make sure it looks truck-friendly. Pass roads that you're not sure about and your GPS will reroute you. When you get to local directions and your GPS shows that you are within a half-mile of your turn, slow down so you don't miss your turn regardless of who you anger in traffic behind you. Missing a turn can be a nightmare if you are somewhere where it could be many, many miles before you find a place to turn around. I've ended up on some really scary roads by missing my turn.Laner99 Thanks this. -
Thank you PJ......
I'll do that! -
I start my schooling on the 16th too. I'll be in ft wayne IN. But I'm trading in a total beetch of a wife (soon to be exwife) for a career I actually want lol. Its funny I was in the army for a little while too and in my head was noticing the similarities between my driving recruiter and the rat ####### that recruited me into the army lol.
So you arent going through this alone. But if I put up with that &*%^>ER%^ of a wife for 17 years I can deal with a trainer and dispatcher....did I mention I worked for her father in their family business for 13 of those years? lol. And I'm only 34 haha.
Good luck friend. We both gonna need it. -
Jamming Gears Thanks this.
