Scariest moment was coming around the corner on a 2 lane mountain road that was snow packed to find a road grader backing up towards me in the middle of the road. With a cliff on one side and a frozen lake on the other (I was crossing over a dam and the grader blocked the exit) I thought for sure there would be a collision. Luckily the operator saw me trying to stop and sliding and was able to switch gears and gun it outta the way.

Had a driver in front of me unloading telling the story of what happened to him a couple nights ago. He was rolling along a two lane highway with his window down and a deer ran out. It jumped at the last second, landed on his hood, flopped around, stood up, started to fall off the drivers side, somehow made it around the mirror, and came right in the window. At this point it was going nuts and he took an antler to the leg before it fell out. Said it scared the hell out of him between trying to fight this thing off and keeping the truck on the road. He's going to keep his window up from now on.

Might have been tonight on 191 in Montana. Coming around a curve and not noticing the ice right away. I started to slide until I got it back on to dry ground!! I slowed down after that. Other time was on Santiam in Oregon when I thought another truck was going to wipe me out. I made it through though thankfully.

Got another one. 2 years ago heading up 287 in Colorado going into Wyoming. Snowing like hell, I'm easing up this giant hill/mountain/ whatever. I am downshifting until I'm in low gear. Then she starts sliding backwards. I finally got the wheels to catch after what I think was a quarter mile. 80 across Wyoming that night seemed like a breeze. Lol.

I'm hearing you with the impress thing as a new driver I did similar when I started my longest and I'm not proud of it was 4430 km or 2750 miles I wont say how long it took me in one hit to impress the boss and show him I was a loyal worker by getting his freight delivered on time. He had the cheek to send me for a drug test on my return I passed it because I didn't and don't take drugs to do my job but I thought it was a bit rude I could understand if a driver had used drugs to do that trip but only to be drug tested and sacked after making the boss a lot of money from the trip seems a bit wrong. I know only do my standard 84h week and only drive a max of 17h between 7 h breaks. Don't get paid enough to fall asleep and wake up dead or worse alive with a family car under the truck. Good thing is that the industry here in Australia has moved with the times and it is rare to find a proffesional company put their drivers at risk with ridiculous time deadlines also the freight receivers Eg; minesites and civil construction sites keep a close eye on how transport providers are operating.

A few weeks ago in Texas hauling a oversized "U" shaped load a car went around my pilots and squeezed between me and the Jersey walls during a lane closed merger. My pilot yell stop! when i got out of the truck the guy was in between the both ends of the load with inches to spare between the truck and wall! trooper saw the who;e thing, had to ride it out of the construction no way to back up
