Ironrider, congrats. My wife and I were riding through Atlanta yesterday heading to a wedding and we passed a Millis truck heading south on I-75. Both of us looked at each other and grinned knowing that it wouldn't be long. I am really looking forward to it.:biggrin_25519:

I just put my application today. Lived up in Marietta and Acworth for about 15 years. This would be such a blessing to be able to get back close to my little girl.

Good luck Stall and my advise would be to call them immediately after submitting your application. I checked a until they gave me a date. I have seen numerous people interested in Millis that were turned down for some reason or another but all I have read, most people that got accepted called often to show interest.

Thunderfoot, I know you are getting excited! I still have 6 weeks to go and can't wait. I am really hoping someone drops out of one of the GA classes so I can go there. GA is much closer for me. I still have not found any negative threads on Millis, a couple of disgruntled ex-employees, but nothing that bothers me. The only "Aw, crap" moment I had was when I learned about their family insurance. It is $81.00 per week with a $3,000.00 deductable!

    stallardjrs Thanks this.

My GF is in Health care brokerage and she looked at the plan and said it was comperable to what most have now. She also said if they have a better plan that they soon will be in the same boat.

I have been on my Wifes health care plan forever. I really don't see me changing from the one I am with.

Ryeman, how's it going out there now? Drop by the class in Jan if you get down this way. Be safe out there.

I have been told it is good insurance, just a the high deductable. You are correct, i have looked at private carriers and this seems pretty par. I think Millis also has a deferred program to assist with the deductables. Regardless, I can't wait. I am soooo ready to turn in my two week notice at this job! Good luck you guys!

They have a HSA (Healthcare Saving Account). Here is a perk if you put atleast $1 dollar in it each paycheck Millis will put in $5. So now you have a $2600 dollar deductable.

And then, if you don't use this account by the end of the year or leave the company they get to keep not only your $1.00 per check but they also get their $5.00 back too. It is a good deal! (For the company not the driver) Its far better for you to just bank the deductible in your own interest Bering account and then IF you need it its there. and if you don't its always yours and will always be

Thanks for the insight on the insurance. I know a lot of companies and businesses have gone to the HSA. I can see where it is beneficial to the policy holder if you can estimate how much to put back. That is a pretty good return 5:1. I can also see where the company is making large bucks for those who don't use it all. I suppose it depends if you are disciplined with your money (lol, I am not!) and keep from spending it. Merry Christmas to you all and your families! May we meet soon!
