Hey all!
I've been looking into a trucking career for a variety of reasons. I'm scheduled to start CDL training at my local community college at the end of this month. The biggest issue I've run into when researching companies is that I'm national guard. That means that once a month I absolutely have to be at drill on time, no excuses. Schneider is the only company I've found that even addresses this and claims they ensure their Guard drivers make it back it time for drill.
Anyone out there have personal experience with this. I've found info on just about everything with this awesome forum, but this is one topic I couldn't track down. Thanks guys! (and gals!)

I can't say first hand but i know Schneider does have a Veterans Program and lots of Veteran driver's.

I did orientation with a guy that is a guard member and I believe Schneider put him on a Wal-mart dedicated route to accomodate his guard schedule.

Haha! I know how you feel. Mine ended a few months ago so I've been going to school living of the G.I. Bill. Luckily I was active a few years back so I got the big one. They seem to be a top veteran employer so I'm hoping they can accommodate folks like us.

I agree many will promise a rose garden, but very few will deliver..also u can use your gi bill, towards training..get paid by schneider and get paid for a year on your gi bill.. win win situation, because it would be hard to make it your first year on rookie pay.
