we dont know yet with these sensors. They've only been installed fleetwide between Oct and Dec. My bigger concern personally is the humidity. 65 outside with 80-90% humidity will be miserable in these trucks with no air.
Schneider APU?

Exactly. One-dimensional short-sightedness on the part of SNI with these sensors.
-
yea, but think of the amount of money they'll be saving on fuel. They're going to be saving even more with all those brand new trucks that don't idle sitting in the OCs without drivers.Spring Chicken and 48Packard Thank this.
-
Yip. You got that right.
-
I was planning to start with schneider when i finished school but now that they are installing these sensors im starting to second guess that decesion.

What kind of creature comforts do you get at schneider? Are you allowed fridges or anything like that? One person here said no apu but I've seen other people say that they have them. Bunk heaters? You get the idea...
-
You get a bunk heater. That's it.
If you want to have a fridge I would recommend the Coleman 40qt 12 V cooler. Can be had from any Walmart for $88. I've had mine for about a year now and have had no issues with it. It keeps my food nice and cold.
No APU's, No Big Inverters, and now No Idling. The biggest Inverter allowed by Company Policy is 180W plugged into a 12V port. -
have had no issue with the 300 watt one I have. I think , as long as it uses a 12v plug they will overlook this sort of thing.
-
I was just listing company policy. I never said anybody followed the rules. I use 2 300W ones as well. One connects via 12V plug and the other uses battery clamps out the drivers door and into the battery box under the door.

Cobra95, I start school in Thomasville at the end of this month and I am looking at EPES and Averitt. I saw you were in NC. Maybe these two companies could be an option for you? EPES lists schools they take newbies from on their website, I bet if youre at one of those Averitt would take you too. Good Luck!Cobra95 Thanks this.
