Schneider bulk claims that you can get 6 days off per month that you can chose the days. How does this really work? Out 12 days, home for three? Out 21 days, home for 6? Out 1 week, home for a 34 restart?

Anyone have any experience with this? Ethos??

    You called?

The answer is it depends on your DBL. I know that answer sucks but for anyone thinking of coming to Schneider you must realize that very little is out of the DBL's control. Now that is great if you have a good one like me, or it can suck. Luckily we have mechanisms in place if you get a bad one.

Now I have heard some guys say they run three Weeks out with six days off. I don't have a reason to call them liars. I run three out and four days home, or I did until I became a trainer. Now my hometown depends on my students progress.
The truth in my opinion is that six full days off is a best case scenario. I don't think the average bulk driver hits that, at least not the ones who run OTR like me. I hate to break it to you but your math was right, it doesn't add up.
But again, you will have to have this talk with your leader. And remember, six days off is policy for what that's worth.

I run a min 3 weeks and take 6 off just about every time i go out. Sometimes i'll stay out 4 weeks if the miles are rockin,, or maybe i'll stay out so i can be home for an event (family reunions, Thanksgiving, christmas, etc).

I've only been late getting home once, and that was only by 9 hrs. I always figure i could be late, so if theres a day i really need to be home, i'll schedule my home time a few days before that. Most times, i get home 8-12 hrs earlier than scheduled and still stay off for the original scheduled 6 days. Sometimes they'll start me a few hrs earlier than scheduled when going back out, but since I get home early most times, I'm not gonna rock the boat and complain lol.

Occasionally, I'll stay out 14 days and take 3 off, but to me staying out the extra week is worth having 6 off.
