I ran regional for 6 months, then swapped to Home Run.

A typical week, I would get in late Friday to noon Saturday. Then deliver on Monday.

It varied depending on the load. You might deliver early Monday, or late that afternoon. They tried to schedule you at least 34 at home.

On average, it worked out to be closer to 40 hours at home.

You have to watch yourself close while on regional. While a load might have an open delivery window on a Monday. Do you want to deliver with hours to run when empty? Or deliver, then take a 10 break. Your choices will reflect when you deliver and how many miles you get that week.

    Added late:

Typical paycheck was $600 - $700 bring home a week. It was okay. But I wanted more time at home.

I am currently regional out of Atlanta and have been for a year as of yesterday and I agree with what was said above. I also bring home 6-700 per week which is more than I made as a cop, so I am happy with that. The only difference with me is I changed from the home every week for 34 hours to 10/2 and 10/3, which means I stay out about ten days then go home for 2 days, go back out for ten and come home for 3 and then repeat the process. I usually go outside the 1000 mile radius just because I do stay out longer. For example, the last two times I have been out, I have some southeast stuff and then got sent to the Northeast and worked back down towards home. I like it and they have some different options as far as hometime is concerned. Hope that helps.

Yes. Both replies very helpful. This sounds like something I would be interested in starting out. It fits my current situation quite well.

Thank you both for the information.

So what's up with vacation pay? Are they going to shaft us on that also?

And before anyone drags up what I said a week ago or so, I retract that statement :biggrin_2559:

I have been doing a lot of thinking and researching looking for the right company for me to go to when I finish school and there is something inside me that keeps pointing to SNI. You know, that little voice inside your head?!

What else did you get shafted on? SNI does not sound like the shafting type of company to me unless I have been misinformed.

May I interrupt the conversation and ask a quick question? When and if I get my own truck, will it have a CB in it, or will I have to buy my own? Thanks!

Yeah Unless you start on the first week of January.

It's what you made on your last W2 divided by 52. And if it's not over 500 bucks, you get 500 bucks.

I pppiiiissss on 500 bucks as my weekly pay. So that 1st vacation, you are losing money. From how I read it.
