If SNI sets the appt and it won't be ready for that long, I assume you get detention just like a company driver..

You get $75 dollars detention pay. Make sure to ask your DBL since it isn't automatically paid like shorter detention pay is. Your company card can be used to pay for scales at Loves, Pilot, and TA truckstops... and isn't deducted from your pay. There is an EZpass/Prepass module mounted to the truck windshield which automatically pays for most tolls. The handbook tells you which are not paid. OK and KS have toll roads which you have to pay out of pocket, but which the company will reimburse you for. You can't take the IN and OH toll roads, and there are others in FL, VA, NJ.

I scale everything over 30K if I haven't seen the inside. Pallets are 38K but I know from experience that 14th hole is good.

    Compared to 5 years ago...

    The Good:
1 SNI is maintaining trailers better.
2 There is a lumper hotline and, although you still have to give the lumper a check, you nolonger have to go through a reimbursement process since the fee is not deducted from your check.
3 You get to keep the Pilot Driver Reward points
4 The onboard computer has a Truck Route GPS.

    The Bad:
1 Many OCs have been shut down.
2 Most of the company stores are online and nolonger affordable.
3 Detention and Layover pay have been drastically reduced.
4 Health Insurance has quadrupled (over $100 per week for a family, starting in January)
5 Holiday pay has been eliminated
6 Company records and transactions are mostly online. You do not want to drive for SNI unless you are proficient with computers and have access to the internet.
7 There are more short mileage loads and live loads.
8 Trucks are governed at 60mph.
9 Idle sensors prevent drivers from idling to charge truck batteries. The old webasto heaters were not linked to the auxiliary power shutdown, but the current heaters are, and so you have no heat if your power shuts down. This is the most recent change and is such a stupid idea that I cannot recommend this company to anyone, anylonger. This one issue proves to me beyond a doubt, that SNI is not just indifferent to its drivers, but is actively hostile. SNI is a shell of what it used to be, and the vision of the founder has been lost.

TAfool, Sal-XK, DADof3 and 1 other person Thank this.

You can use your card at Pilot, Flying J, and Loves, not TA unless you prefer out of pocket.
