I was interested in some input from people who have actually been doing it. I am currently employed as a Police Detective, been in the profession for nearly 15 years. In 2007 I attended driving school and then drove for a regional company for approximately 4 months before returning to LE. Over the past 6 years I haven't really advanced other than in position and my retirement for just over 11 years worth of investment is projecting me to be living in poverty if I were to stay in the system for 30 years. I recently attended a refresher course and have begun the search for a driving job. My goal going forward would be to move into a L/O or O/O position. I have been following several threads on here for the past couple of months for SNI and have become very interested in their Choice program. I recently submitted an application with SNI and have been contacted by recruiting. Signed the release form and they called back and set up a phone interview for tomorrow. I live in VA, on the East coast just off of the Chesapeake Bay approximately 60 miles in between Richmond and Fredericksburg. I have seen several listings for SNI for a NE Regional position, Walmart dedicated out of Gordonsville, a dedicated Dollar General out of Richmond and an OTR. My questions are these. Out of those routes, if offered which route would A.) Generate to best income. B.) Provide me with the best home time. C.) Give me the best opportunity to progress into their Choice Program and D.) Be the best to cut my teeth so to speak as a rather new driver?
Thanks to those who get the opportunity to respond, your opinion and insight is greatly appreciated. -
Are you really gonna copy and paste that in every single thread on here?

DG is WORK!!!! Touching every box. Wlamart would be easiest by far and home for a 34hr restart every weekend (btw you dont get much more than the 34 off) or at least once a week whenever the account dictates. They do run 24/7 so your days off would be what they set. If the end goal is to go Choice O/O then I think you need to go OTR. I dont believe they count any dedicated as the required experience for acceptance on Choice, but I might be wrong. Contact a recruiter to know for sure what is accepted or not.
Based on what you have layed out as your "criteria" for now I dont think they can all be met at once.1tidefan Thanks this. -
if your a police detective why the hell would you want to be a truck driver. just curious
