Yes. Your DBL has a great deal to do with how much you drive.

Regional, out of Green Bay because I live in Michigan (moved from NC about 9 years ago, when the old man retired from the Corps). I'm still with my training DBL - which may change this week, if rumors are to be believed. I'm in GB right now, scheduled for 'final training' on Monday. They brought me in early so they could get my truck in the shop to hopefully get the cruise fixed. It has intermittent motivational issues...sometimes, it just doesn't want to work.
My DBL has been great. My very first week, I was down 5 days with injector issues, so had a really crappy week. The next week, about 2400 miles. I think last week was about 1500, and pretty close for this week, too. Last week was a bunch of short runs, and I said something to her about it. That afternoon, I had a 525 mile run, then a shorter one to get here. I want to drive, not sit...
DFO is out of Charlotte, IIRC. I know he was when he was a company driver, so he can probably give you the low-down on DBLs there. Welcome aboard!! -
Oh my god, what a lousy week. So darn tired. Trying to keep a good attitude. No word on whats going on with my transfer. Everyone I had talked to before said that My DBL had to do something on his end to start the process. But Ithink I'm the only one in the history of the SLC OC to request a transfer, nobody knows what to do apparently. I'm going to call the bulk recruiter on monday.
But driving down in south texas and seeing all the help wanted signs for the oil companies, has me considering that now as well. My God, if I can go the rest of my life and never see a major city again, I would be happy. -
Sorry you had a bad week. And I am in total agreement with never seeing a major city again.
