I was running in the negative for the last few months. All my problems with OOR started when I got a run from TX to IL, then somehow I have been on this continuous loop from the Midwest to Virginia for a few weeks now. I have even taken US60 in WV to cut out the 10 miles extra taking I64 the whole way and they are telling me that my OOR for May is 4%. That's why I asked the question. This is not new to me. I appreciate you guys and your input.

I do not go OOR to find empties or T/S's. Also, my truck gets parked at a drop lot that I have, so far, been getting paid all the way back to.

Oh, and for example, the run that I am on now, I have run very little interstate at all (originated in VA, going to Chicago). I have run as straight of a line as is legally possible, and I will be about 5.4% OOR. If I had followed Jill, my OOR would have been 10.2%.

When you leave your pick up point in Chicago have Jill pull the route she'd like you to take. Write down the total mileage. When you get to the consignee, load navigo back to the shipper. See if there's a difference in the total mileage. Jill will sometimes pop one route heading south and a different one heading north.

I would also have your dbl dig into the numbers and see if there's something funny in the math. Failing that have your dbl put in routing points along the route YOU believe to be the most efficient safe route.

If you don't go out of route to find truck stops then what do you do if you can't find a place to park along Jill's route?

OOR used to be calculated by the individual load and then a median was determined such as say you were sent on an mt search that they say is 50 miles and you drive 60 that's 20% OOR and was 1 trip and then each trip is calculated and then your % was figured. Now I'm not sure if it is the same now but that was how it was done back when.......

Notice how often these things change in regard to bonus/raise criteria. I believe they are trying anything and everything to keep as much as they can from us.

The rule of thumb on notice is by how you are paid. Paid every week-one week notice...Paid every two weeks - two week notice. Paid monthly- one month notice.
