I had a repaired one the other day to! They used clear packing tape and tire labels. Apparently the roof of that trailer is a wrangler sr-a

After spend the better part of an hour scraping off those hazmat stickers off the outside of an empty trailer and STILL had about 1/4 of each placard left on the trailer, all I will say is that will NEVER, EVER, leak. LMAO.

Apparently damaged by whoever loaded the commercial tires with the forklift. There were two nice big round holes in the top that surprisingly were about the same distance apart as a fork lifts hydraulics would be. I didn't see the holes till I was unloading at the customer.

Discussed it with the boss and was told to just bring it to Obetz to get repaired. She knew the loaders probably did it but there was really no way to prove it.

Well, I know Charlie checks but the night guy doesn't. It was dropped by a system driver I didn't recognize the name on the DVIR. I am almost certain the shift supervisor inspects trailers before they load them which leads me to believe it happened during the loading process. It was way up front towards the nose of the trailer.

Sucks to see that the forklift operator didn't man up and admit his mistake. Same with these guys that ram forks all the way through the sides of our trailers, pisses me off.

Ticks me off when a trailer is brought back, driver knows it has defects, and they leave it for the next driver, rather than write it up, red tag it and let me know so I can get the repair taken care of.

Been reading the posts on here and learning tons! My son and I just accepted a position with Schneider and leave for orientation in California the end of the month. It was important that we teamed together. I was deployed 7 of 11 years with the Army and when I got back he was in the Marines.

We took a position running what I was told would be "high dollar, sensitive" cross country loads out of California at 35 cpm to start and we should average 5500-6000 miles per week. My questions are as follows....

Is this accurate or just what a recruiter is telling us to get us hired? Is there anything special we should know? I think there shouldn't be any reason we can't exceed whatever goals are in place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Keep in mind that 35cpm is the "full" pay rate, while for the first 90 days with the company you will be on the per diem pay plan, which may or may not be beneficial to you tax wise depending on your situation. Per diem is paid 2 cpm less and greatly reduces your reported taxable income. So technically for the first 90 days you'll be at 33 cpm most likely. After that you can opt out of per diem pay. Make sure to get clarification on that with the recruiter so you dont get unpleasantly surprised. As far as the 5500-6000 miles goes, schneider has plenty of freight so as long as you keep the doors shut and the truck moving that's easily doable.
