DBL confirmed I will be paid $150 for sitting all day. Was happy about that! -
Just wanted to jump in with a quick Howdy!
Also, I would like to thank the last driver who pulled the Emerson trailer into Frito Lay. The two torn airbags and a full set of worn out brakes killed my entire day. At least I wont have to worry about my 70 anytime soon. -
Seriously doubt that driver dropped that trailer with blown air bags. Never made it down the road with air leaking. Brakes well that's what's happens on old trailers. Unless you climb under the trailer you really can't tell just by walking around

So the bags tore sitting there? And I thought looking at brakes was part of the pre trip? I noticed they were getting thin, planned to have them changed at an oc tonight half way through my load. Couldnt move the tandems to scale out after I got loaded. Also the pins would only retract once (air tandem pins with the Emersons) thats what put me on to the leaking bags, and started the whole fiasco.
Guess I didnt expect someone to stick up for someone dropping junk trailers on the next guy. -
Will schneider hire students who just turn 21 and have no exp?

From talking with some other drivers here I found out that just because you mark an issue on the DVIR, it doesn't inform SEM of the issue, apparently that isn't tied together on the Qualcomm. You still have to phone SEM or send in the macro in order for them to know about it and send someone out to fix the problem.

Something to keep in mind about the Emerson trailers - they take forever to air up. If a driver (or yard jockey) doesn't give enough time for the air bags to inflate it puts excess strain on the suspension. What might have been small, unnoticible leaks at the posttrip may have gotten worse after the yard jockey beat on it.
As Diesel said the dvir is for DOT. If you want something fixed call SEM. The dvir will put the trailer OOS so the box planner ( in theory) can't send some someone in on an mt search but thats it.
