Not yet there trying them on 20 trucks. Supposed to eliminate the need of king pin lock.

I like mine so far. Permanently mounted, works with the truck key. Only problem is the buttons pop out at 40 psi.

If this works then SNI can stop subsidizing the king pin lock so moneywise it would be a wash.

So someone grab a torx screwdriver and pull out those 4 screws holding that faceplate on and lets see the backside of that plate. How "plasticy" are the red and yellow extensions that are around the face of the knobs? Looks like it could be wacked with a hammer and they would bust off in a heartbeat.

Now I haven't seen one in person so hey I can't talk trash about it... yet...

The ring around the buttons is metal and with the cuff in the lock position you can't't move the screws. Even if you could they only adjust the fit.

Given twenty minutes I could get it off but I would end up busting the dash pretty bad. An actual thief would be able to do it faster but it would still take time and effort.

All of this is moot though if they find the spare key in the glove box.

If a thief wants it, this won't stop them. They will find a way.

Yes but that doesn't mean I have to make life easy on them. A little discouragement goes a long way with a casual thief.

If $20-50 will save a $100k truck plus the cargo it's a reasonable investment.

Plus now I can park at my mom's and not violate company policy.

How does this device replace the King Pin lock? The King Pin lock is for the trailer when you are not connected to it. With this device it only protects the truck and trailer when they are connected. So I see the rule coming soon that says at no time is a truck to be disconnected from a loaded trailer. Period.

Current security measures for parked hv loads is to drop trailer, install king pin then back back up to trailer. This device would replace that step.

When you drop a trailer at a T/S for tractor maintence you would still need a king pin lock, but in 4 years I've done that once.

What they're aiming to replace is the "if you're gone from truck and trailer more than two hours you must install the kingpin lock" rule.
