My wife and I run teams. They will give you all the miles you can handle after you prove you can be on time. They are constantly riding us to do more miles. We just don't want them or need them.
mickimause and TennMan Thank this. -
people can be really cool sometimes. Case in point.
Headed to the second run of D/H we are stuck with for the next week. Short miles (83 each way no unload pay). Get close to going through the little town fac is located in. Pick up truck stops me a light to say iit closed ahead due to accident. He whips a uturn and leads me around it taking about 25 minutes to get me back on track. Just because.moosc and mickimause Thank this. -
Hello. I'm out of SLC, Utah and thinking of going solo with Schneider. Can any other solo drivers (48 or West Region) tell me about their bobtail policy? With my previous company, I'm used to dropping my trailer at a company-approved yard and bob-tailing a short distance to go shopping, etc.
Thank you in advance. -
If I remember correctly, SNI's policy on company drivers using the trucks, even bobtail, for personal use is a resounding NO. Our OCs mostly have company cars we can use, for whatever that's worth.
FigNewton Thanks this. -
mickimause Thanks this.

Not always so... I've dropped a few trailers, and headed into town for food on occasion. It's more of "where you are" and "what's close by" that you and your DBL discuss. If you are cool about it, I've never been turned down...... I've always just asked for forgiveness after the fact....
mickimause Thanks this. -

I, personally, am too lazy to drop a trailer I don't have to drop...or maybe it's that I'm too lazy too hook it back up.
