Look into dedicated. Affords regular hometime (some accounts daily), regular ave miles per week and consistent pay.
One thing SNI is good about is transfers within the company. Need to stay in a position for 6 months but then you can make the request for something different. Makes for a great way to get several different types of experience .Indianabuck Thanks this. -
Thanks! ... And sorry, but your answers keep spawning new question... Schneider is advertising several dedicated jobs in the Indianapolis area where I am that are open to "new class A CDL holders," which I might be soon ... Just wondering, if you know, does this mean that Somebody right out of school could be on a dedicated run right after orientation and possibly a week or two with a trainer? Or would i have to be with a trainer for a longer time ?
-
Yes. If you dont mind working for it look at the goodyear account. Driver hand unload of tires. We need a couple more drivers on the account. Its work for sure but its a good workout while being paid for it.
-
Btw you would go through the regular orientation. Week of class and skills training, a week on the road then the final week is routing, our assignment system and final testing/check ride.
Were you to come aboard my account, the would be a day or two training specific to the account.Indianabuck Thanks this. -
What do you think home time would be like from my area - best case, for somebody that would like as much as possible?
-
On our account, near daily. We have 3 places in Indy we deliver to and a couple others near Indy. Had an Indy based driver who didnt last long. Not sure why.
Indianabuck Thanks this. -
This sounds really good to me ... Gotta go, but would like to pick your brain some more later, if you don't mind.... Thanks again!

We also need drivers on the Aurora account. Home every weekend.
