I've run a couple of Menards DC to store loads in the past few weeks. Is this one of our new customers?

No, we've been running those as long as I've been here. Pulled DTS loads out of Plano, IL and Terre Haute, IN before.

account conference call in 45. Hopefully I can get resolution to an issue that came about with these new metrics for dedicated. Compliant fuel stops. GB has my truck as 2 100 gal tanks not the single 100 gal tank as ordered BY GB.

I fuel every day to get back to full . usually use between 40 and 75 gal depending on the run that day. Not always though will I get a solution. In particular on the Cleveland area runs.

So I had a day. Delievered in to Ecorse, MI (south Detroit). Get to the customer and see they have a one lane road leading to shipping and receiving with three trucks trying to go in and one trying to get out. I wait paitently on the street until that kurfluffel is cleared up by the security officer/shipping clerk who starts frantically waving me in off the street as soon as the guy trying to leave got out. I pull down the road but wait to start making my turn into the yard as there's a Ryder truck trying to get turned around and a yard jockey trying to put a trailer in a spot using the same space. Hit the air horn but a couple seconds too late as Ryder's overswing comes around as the yard jockey pulls up and crunch went the yard truck mirror and fender (Ryder's trailer looked fine still).

After a little huffing and puffing the security guard/clerk has both guys leave their rigs as is until the supervisor comes down and deals with it before approaching me. I hand him my paper work as he's mumbling driver's not following instructions, showing up three hours early, etc. He glances at it and barks, polietly, that I'm at the right factory, just on the wrong end of the building and I'm going to have to come in the yard and get turned around, thrusts my paperwork back at me, turns around and realizes I can't come on the yard, tells me to wait and then stomps off.

Supervisor's there now, takes some pictures and they start untangling the yard truck from Ryder. Turns out the yard truck's steering linkage/hub/something else on the right steer was so jacked up they couldn't move it. Long and short of it is I was no going to have to back out onto the four lane, median divided road, blindside. Security guard and another driver head out onto the street to block traffic and I start backing. Everything is going smoothly and I'm just about to start pivoting my tandems around the median when I hear a shout and brakes squealing. Look out my drivers side mirror and there's a 4 wheeler about three feet from my side skirt. Security guard finally loses it. He's yelling and screaming about "Why the f### do you think I'm standing in the road?" and "It's big, orange and has flashing lights what do mean you didn't see it" until the four wheeler pops into reverse and takes the side street.

I finally get around to the other side of the building and find the dock at the far end of the building. The dock's on the right as you approach and on the far side is a railroad track. There's plenty of space to get flipped around and sight side in (or even almost straightline) except for the snow piles. So I have to back out onto the street (straight this time), make a left, back up, make a left and then back down the driveway and finally sight side back into the dock. On the plus side it only took 20 minutes to get unloaded.

Then I got to go three miles down the road where I got to sit in a break room for an hour and a half with two drivers and a steering wheel holder who knew everything about anything - and wouldn't shut up. Got loaded, went and scaled out at the Ann Arbor Pilot. Overweight on the trailer, made an adjustment and headed back for the scale - which is now being blocked by a tow truck trying to jump start somebody. I'm blocking everybody now so I have no choice but to cross the street to the TA to get flipped around and come back on the scale. This of course is not what anybody expects so as I'm crossing back I have a closer than I'm comfortable with encouter with a car hualer.

And people wonder why truck drivers are cranky.

I think I've been there before. Sounds like someplace I've been, anyway, and I'm pretty sure it was in Ecorse...
