Why take a low paying (low/no profit) load just to keep moving? Think of revenue per mile, not miles.

A) I really need to be somewhere on a specific date and I've tried as hard as I could to put together a better preplan
B) I see a really awesome load that I want to take that might be far away (300-400 miles perhaps) and instead of deadheading I'll take a cheapo to get to it so I get some revenue in the process.
To basically sum it up you better have a good reason to book a cheap loadharlycharly55 Thanks this. -

My park smart bunk heater has quit again, this time due to a fuel leak inside of it. It malfunctioned last fall where it would only stay running on high temp setting, so I got that fixed. And last winter it shut down completely. I operate the system as according to SNI instructions. But I am beginning to wonder if this is a good system. Has anyone else had multiple problems w/ park smart?

See what happens when you do favors for the box planners? Pick up an empty from customer after dropping, look at next assignment and they want me to bobtail to pick up. Call in to confirm and they ask me to drop the empty at another customer 8 out of route miles for the $25 shuttle payment. Sounds good enough. Pull the trailer 4 miles and have to slide tandems to rear. Lock the tandems and release the brakes and next thing you know emergency air line busts and can't get brakes to release. I think it's an airline but I can't get a good idea what the problem is since I'm losing like 5psi per second and by the time I release supply air to the trailer and get back to inspect it I have maybe 10-15 seconds to look at it before it totally drain my tractor air supply. Might be a brake chamber but not sure. Now I have to sit and babysit an empty waiting for sem

You'll earn that 25

It was the valve connecting the airline to the trailer air tank. But now the guard comes out and says they are going to reject the trailer so I can't even drop it here anyways. Of course it's over 10 years old and I'm at GM and they don't take trailers that old normally. Of course it's listed as "michigan crossdock" on the system so I can't tell if it's GM, Ford or whatever. I asked if it was GM and they said it's an issue, they're desperate for trailers and they'll take it. Now that I get here it gets rejected at first, then they say they'll take it. Then as I sat here broken down on the driveway entrance another Schneider pulls in to drop an empty that's over 10 years old. Now the guard comes out and says they just accepted that older trailer and that's the limit, they won't take my trailer. What a cluster #### situation. Now I have to jerk around trying to figure out what to do with this #### trailer?
