Well thanks for the help qualcomm technical support. I called in after my qualcomm lost all communication to the outside world for 3 straight hours to find find out how to manually restart it to see if it will work again (i forgot what buttons to push, tried a bunch of different variations but nothing worked). They somehow ran a diagnostic test on my unit
, and was told restarting it won't do anything and it will most likely need a new cable or sensor.
Well guess what... After switching over my entire day to paper logs, working the rest of the day, stopping for the night, and having my qualcomm automatically shut off after the truck was shut down for a while. I decided to start the qualcomm back up. Sure enough I've got full communication again. Received 2 messages, got my preassignment and was able to set my etas and nat.
Unfortunately I still need to call my dbl in the morning to be routed to an OC to have my dpf serviced. -
Log.onto y e.mobile crossroads site and you can restart the QC yourself.
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
I was sitting at the computers in Carlisle, OC looking at loads. I started talking to this guy who was on team choice. He was telling me that they got rid of the legacy program. Him and his partner been teaming together for 20 years. He hates the Choice program. He let me look at the team rates, and the suck monkey balls. The closes load is 250 mi away, that come out to a $1.18. He has been complaining to SNI about the team program. This is there 3rd truck, the first one they got through SNI . The other 2 they financed through a bank. He was telling me guys that come from the legacy program are quiting. His partner is turning 62 next month and he is retiring. Could you imagine teaming for over 20 years?
I felt bad for the guy.oragonads Thanks this. -

Hows things at jcp? -
JCP going ok, they changed all the routes last week, no more than 2 stores per load now. Lots of stores are just getting dedicated trucks. So, more freight per store, less trucks to that store per week. -
I'm getting all the issues already mentioned and especially don't like the way the 1000rpm limit seems to randomly engage. Can be as gentle as anything setting off and never know if it'll kick in. The behaviour isn't limited to 3mph either. Frankly, I find it dangerous as hell suddenly finding I've no acceleration setting off at lights or junctions. It even did it to me on a rail crossing on Friday and had to stop and restart on the track! Talk about scary!
But since the update, that's not the only thing I've noticed. Now my cruise control rarely recovers back up to the set speed after an uphill slowdown and I have to use the accelerator to bring it back up to speed. At other times the cruise will actually hold me at the max 63mph. I've been monitoring this and it looks to me like the cruise control has been turned into a fuel economy control. It now seems to be adjusting my speed based on fuel economy, not the set speed. Anyone else noticed that?
To top it off my onguard now randomly slams the brakes on on a straight Road when there's nothing in front, or by the side at all. Twice now it's done it as I've been overtaken and once badly enough to throw me halfway onto the shoulder on a curve with another truck passing.
All the response I've had so far from chats with the shop is to the effect of, that's the update we've been told to apply, so get used to it. They've admitted they're getting loads of issues with this reported but they can't do anything about it.
I really like my job where I am and have never ever felt stressed working for Schneider, but just in this last week I can feel myself on edge constantly, wondering when the truck is going to do something else unexpected and possibly dangerous. Even considering moving jobs just because I really don't feel safe with it.
I've reported the behaviour by Qualcomm just so it's on the record just in case.
Just seems to me that a system designed to protect the drivetrain, which actually forces extra use of the clutch and can result in jumping into the wrong gear when trying to recover, doesn't make any sort of sense!mickimause, 91B20H8 and dtcscout Thank this. -
IMHO nothing good comes from taking the driver out of the driving position
mickimause and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
Too darn much constant micro management bs over there. I left a few months back because of it
