Found a Indian buffet at an Indian run, Dhillon Truckstop in San Jon, New mexico . Exit 356 on I-44 The place was a total dive and I only stopped to use the potty. But when I walked in, it smelled so good! I went over to look and this old man all but but threw me into a booth and told me in very broken English ,"YOU HAVE BUFFET!!" It was only $10 so I got and it was delicious! They only had a handful of items. Rice, curry chicken, some rice/curry chicken/veggie thingee. Another dish that smelled like fire,,,, I didn't try that one. They had some bean side dishes and some spinach paste that looked horrible but was great with a lot of salt and pepper. The gent also brought out freshly made really pita bread, that was steaming hot. All in all well worth the $10. I and another driver were the only whiteys in there and while it wasn't a hostile environment, nobody(customers and staff) except for the old guy went out of their way to be nice. But maybe that is a cultural thing. Nobody talked at all and if they did it was very hushed. Everyone just ate and enjoyed their food.
that s ok. Just makes it easier on me not having to go out of my way to see if OD is hiring line haul. They are around the corner from the Obetz dust bowl in dry weather and land of a thousand lakes in wet. With a shop mechanic who would refuse to change a tire with 20 minutes left of open shop time.
its unreal. twice this year I know of they had a company come out to grade with the same material thats there. first rain it all washes out.
