Yea and they don't want you to forget it. I called my DBL and turns out it wasn't a Critical. My QC says hard brake critical but all his computer showed was the following distance crap. Next time I think I'll wait for him to call me. Anybody know the "rules" for this new distance thing they have? I haven't really gotten a straight answer from anyone yet. Just bits and pieces. I saw some posts about it here but don't remember how long ago that was.

 

They make it up as they go, so of course there's not 1 correct answer.

 

That's pretty much what I've gathered so far. Seems to be a pretty common theme.

 

Thanks people who were SO excited to hit the flea market today near the Henderson yard in Denver that they didn't pay attention and wrecked right in front of me! Really appreciate the chance to have a second hard brake come up in the last 2 weeks because of 4 wheelers. Though your cars managed to go from 65 to 0 in about 5 seconds after your collision, my rig wasn't quite able to do the same thing. Luckily, I wasn't tailgating you idiots like you were, so though both your cars were totaled, I managed to avoid you and NOT wreck my truck or kill you guys. I hate that #### red exclamation point on the Qualcomm, though. Now, I have to call in for being a bad girl tomorrow. Fun times!

 

@Sipesh I'm glad you weren't involved. It really sucks that you got the critical and now have to deal with it because of the morons out there on their Sunday stroll.

 

Dash cam. Something that has now become nearly indispensable. You have to fight technology with technology.

 

Exactly. I've been putting off getting one but after my close call this week now I definitely want one just in case. Has anyone here ever sent a video to their DBL? Did they even want to see it?

 

Actually, I've had 2 dash cams, but the last one finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago and I need to get a new one. The first one I had actually caught itself on fire after shorting out, LOL. The second one quit powering up and was starting to get memory card errors before that. I think I'll invest in a better one this time since I can install something nice with this being the last truck I plan on owning for a long, long while. What kinds do the rest of you run, if you have them?

 

I've got a Garmin. The first one quit powering up after less than two months. I returned it (it was a gift to me), and Garmin sent a new one quickly. No problems so far with the replacement unit.
