    Tuesday night -
Trainee "I don't need a shower. I prefer to shower every other day"
Gentleroger "I don't know where we'll be tomorrow. There might not be a shower available."
    T - "no, I'm good"
    Repeat above twice.

    Wednesday:
GR - "shipper is running behind, we may have to overnight on their property"
T "but I want to shower"
GR "I told you this might happen"
T "why can't we just leave, go to the truck stop and come back?"
GR "there are restrooms here, you can order in food if you need/want. The nearest TS is 30 miles away. If we drive there and back it will cost us 1:30 of our 70 and almost 2 hours of our 14 tomorrow. This would mean not getting home on time"
    T "indistinct grumbling noises"

Shipper finally gets us done and I make a safe and legal run for the Pilot. Have 2 whole minutes left on the 14 at the stoplight turning in.

    Thursday Night
GR "grab your gear and we'll go shower"
    T "I don't need to shower"
GR "I don't know where we'll overnight tomorrow but it's likely going to be a rest area or a customer."
T "No, I'm fine. You shower if you want"
GR exasperated "think about how you felt last night when I told you we might end up overnighting at the shipper?"
    T "no, I'm good"
GR " to be clear, after this the next opportunity for a shower might be Green Bay on Saturday night"
    T "no, I told you I'm good"
GR "no you're not. Get your gear now"
T (with rolling of eyes) " fine"

This is what I'be been dealing with this week. If you hear a Schneider truck spontaneously combusts tomorrow, understand it was because the little ball of rage in me hit critical mass.

@gentleroger you're so much more patient and politically correct than what I was "your ### and feet stink, get out of my truck until they don't"

I'm not PC, I'm polite, cultered, and a gentleman. PC is avoiding the truth of the matter. Politeness means saying "bless you heart" instead of "go #### a duck". If they're smart they'll figure out they've been insulted.

In other news, why the heck couldn't "West, by God, Virginia" have chosen another name like Apalachicola or Its Not Creepy if She's Your Second Cousin? It would make it easier to teach geography.

Has it really gotten that bad? Good Lord, it looks exactly like every other conversation I have with my 4 year old. The troubling part about your story isn't so much the sheer ignorance, but rather the fact that he didn't learn his lesson the first time. What does that say for him when he makes his first oops as a solo driver? Is he going to repeat the exact same mistake two days later? You shouldn't have to be telling adults (I use that term very loosely) to bath themselves. You must have some serious patience.

He'd either shower Daily or walk!!!

I've told "drivers" in the OC that I've walked past " the showers are down that hall on the right" to have them say I'm alright I not looking for them.

At which point I said you should be you needed one 3 days ago.

I don't always get the kindest responses.
