Any updates @Blue Hotel ?
EDIT: wow I really need to learn how to read. Didn't see your post mickeyrat.mickeyrat Thanks this. -
This DVIR lady is really starting to bug me. A couple weeks ago I was able to maintain my perfect schedule of starting my day at 2100 and ending around 10 in the morning for 2 1/2 weeks. She said I never sent DVIRs in for those who weeks straight which is definitely not the case. Then she corrects herself and tells me that if I'm starting later in the day, I have to put in a No DVIR Required. Thats all she said, Later. No actual time given. Even though I worked up until late morning everyday. Not like I shut down at 00:05 and never logged back on for that particular date.
Why do I have to do it twice a day? I don't have to put no DVIR for my 10 hour break if I take it at night time. So why do I have to do it during the day. OK whatever, I did it all just to get her off my back. Now she's hounding me again for days last week. I do it every single day after my post trip as a routine. I enjoy routine and I do not deviate from the plan when it comes to the way I start and finish each day. I even started marking it on my calendar to be double sure and I'm still getting messages up the Ying yang. It's like some go through and some don't. Anyone had this happen when you know for a fact that you sent it?
And yes I know DOTSNI is just a made up word but I still don't want to get these messages every single day. -

Disclaimer: these are not my thoughts or beliefs. They are the thoughts/beliefs of regulatory/lawyers/fmcsa/programers/Elmer Fudd.
Say you end day 1 at 2000, and log the dvir. You start day 2 at 1200 and run until 0100 on day 3, doing the dvir as soon as you shut down. You did the dvir for your 2nd day of work, but not for day number 2. Log "pages" run midnight to midnight, so you need to log some sort of dvir on each calender day.
The computer shows the dvir that you do at "end of day", which happens to be mid morning. Then it shows you driving later that calender day, looks for a new dvir, doesn't find it and puts your name on the naughty list.
The best way to avoid the essay is to send in a dvir after doing your pretrip. That should satisfy the computer. If it doesn't then when you send in your dvir at the end of your work day send in a second one for just before midnight.
Or raise a stink that the darned thing isn't a federal requirement anyway.Home_on_wheels, AM14 and 91B20H8 Thank this. -
Option 3 is the @TennMan clause and just log nodvirrequired on that day. I may or may not have been checking this option myself lately

Yup. Definitely #3. The whole thing is ridiculous. Even though it's asinine, I don't really mind doing them. It takes a whopping 7 seconds to select no defect.
However I do have a problem with getting hassled on a daily basis over something that does not matter anymore when I did the stupid thing right to begin with.Home_on_wheels Thanks this.
