Yeah, other guy is shut out too. He should get it first because hes been waiting going on 3 months!!!! "have to get through peak" BS!!!!!

But , I've accepted it and that makes the day to day easier to get through.

Now, to get in for my med card renewal(tried today 1.5 hr wait or more) and do that self cert AND have my annual due soon too. Oh and 4th quarter sustainment.

I went to orientation in Charlotte 2 years ago. And then ran in the Nashville Regional division. At the time, most of OSRs and classroom instructors were ex-military people. But they offered very good training. (With the crappy military attitude ) Regional was good, I usually dropped and hooked once a day. I rearly went further out than 500 miles from Nashville, TN. Now, I didn't see really good pay checks till about six months later. At first it was hard, but as time went on, the job got much easer.

    Sorry, gonna rant

Gave my 2 week notice today.
Been running The Chicago area since Sunday doing these stupid relays and shorts runs. 70-200 miles runs. Got a 120 mile run last night, after a drop in Geneva, Il, during Chicago rush hour going to peoria, Il with a 6 am delivery, followed by a local pick up and then a 2 o clock appointment for the second pick up and to drop it at the walmart cross-dock in Hammond Indiana, followed by ANOTHER relay picking up in Elwood Il coming back to the GARY yard and wanting me to be in Cedars rapids by Noon the next day.I had 57 updates to my pre-assignments in from 8 am to 3pm.
I get to the Cross-dock at 2 pm and then sit for almost 2 hours waiting for an MT with several other Drivers. I knew before then that I wasn't going to be able to make and I had called my OC to let them know. And instead of putting someone else on it,Like say the local SNI driver who just got done telling me how much money he makes doing the same runs I have just spent all week doing and how He is home every day with weekends off and averages $200 a day, I get talked to like I'm a complete idiot and moron. They can't fathom why I wouldn,t use my remaining time to go down and at least pick it up. Ok. Where do I go after I get it? I'll be lucky to even be able to get there with my 14. Looking at google maps, there was no place to park for 10 hours. I'm not going to pick up a load and then be stuck somewhere with no parking and get a ticket or mugged. What is the cop going to say when I tell him that I'm out of hours. ,"Well, you should have planned better".
    So sick of it.

Now that I've given it, Now they find runs to get me back to SLC, "So We can Talk" I just need to admit that I'm done with this. Been at this almost 10 years and have never been this unhappy. I may just go back to driving local. Salt Lake City pays squat for local work, but if I can make $700 a week working 5-6 days a week, that will be almost what I make here working every single day, maxing my hours out. I started Aug 19th and haven't had a full Day off since I started and I still can't average more than $800

What is your milage rate? Someone obviously needs to give your dbl a swift kick in the ###, there is no excuse that you should have to put up with that crap. Have you ever complained to them before? Unfortunately they'll take advantage of you if you give them the chance

I'm making .36 CPM. They had done this before last month when I was Los Angles. All of the sudden I'm doing relays and running up to Fresno and back to LA a few times doing 300 miles a day, but putting in 12 hours, for a week. They apologized and did the standard,"We'll follow it up with a good run" I know crap happens and you get stuck in a rut sometimes. But they knew darn well that they were running me as a local driver and that is something I will not put up with. I can run local at home.

Dedicated is the way to go anymore.

I never had it that bad OTR but once I got a taste of dedicated home every night/weekends off and the pay, I will never go back.

I threatened to leave and put in my 2 week notice once.....now I am home everyday! This could work to your advantage....make the most of it if they offer you a local, that is what they did with me to keep me with them.
