dedicated is the hard life, I tell you, sleeping in the truck once every couple of weeks. Hope they did something about my batteries, because the portable cpap setup they have needs to be improved. Major components are fine, they just need better 12v components. Inverter power cord has shat it self several times, now the alligator clip 12v outlet wont transfer any juice, so I have to use truck batteries to stay compliant but more importantly get the actual rest that using the machine gives me!!! Just really cheap cheaply made stuff.
Otherwise, using bunkheater will cut out ALL power to cab after about 20 minutes. Wake up , have to use a flashlight.
So my choice is to get the rest I need to be safe OR stay warm. -
saw an add for schneider today here in Jacksonville....looks very promising, Are they as good as they say they are?

Question, how far out of a OC can you live and still be hired on?
-
Yeah digital fuel optimizer on there trucks. So no more reason to say you ran out of fuel.

Had/have an issue that set of new batteries didnt seem to address.
So now I'm thinking alt going out? Question is , so they just quit or will they slowly fade in charging the batts?
New set today started with 14v at speed. Drove the new set for 3 1/2 hours. Get to first stop come back out and voltmeter struggled to hit 13 v and fluctuated the rest of the day between 12v and 13v. Previous with old batts and including today with the new ones in, after about 20 30 min the power to cab cuts out. Bunk heater causes the same ,will run the espar but no other power available. I use Cpap and I'd rather be rested and safer but still stay warm too.
How long drive time til batts are fully charged after install and the above question on how alts go out. -
get a multimeter and check voltage with engine not running, should be at least 11-12
check voltage with engine running, should be 13-15 with 15 being max
check all the connections and make sure they are tight with no green or white corrosion on them
are the batteries actually new or just different? do a load test and maybe find a bad cell -

Can someone tell me where in the hell is the empty trailers. Seems like every load I have to chase an mt. I was at the Charlotte OC, looking for a place park. They have all these empty trailers roped off for sale. I think the person who do the ordering of trailers made a mistake. You cant take thousands of trailers out of sevice, and replace them with 100 new trailers.
