Schneider Chat Room version 2.0

Gary Express told me to see the service advisor who told me they bring the truck in at 0500 this morning. At 0545 was told 1700.

I'm running it until it gets really bad. I made an effort to get it looked at so when it blows up I'm covered. I just like to know why my truck starts making noises

 

Sounds like the pump is getting ready to fail. Of course you will still have steering when it does but it won't be easy. A truly scary event with a student behind the wheel. I wouldn't leave the oc until they cleared it. Even if it is something simple Dot just loves whining noises coming from steering components.

 

2 weeks and 2 days until I drop my app at SNI. I want to thank everyone here for answering my questions and being extremely helpful. From the sounds of things I'll probably be going to Charlotte for orientation in Feb. but I will keep everyone abreast of the situation and how things progress. Still very early days yet but the anticipation level is rising. Thanks again everyone.

 

I have a phone interview with schneider today I looking into dry van regional.
I have a CDL but have not driven in almost 7 years
any good info would be a great help

Your pump is on its last legs. My old truck did this the last few months I had it. The steering wheel shook real bad under 10 mph and I couldn't even budge the wheel unless I was rolling. I never lost any fluid either. I tried getting it fixed 3 times, one was a PM and was refused all 3 times because the truck was being sold "soon" if you remember that whole debacle. People complain about backup alarms at truck stops, you should've heard my PS pump screaming. I got so good at backing with a failing pump, once I got the new truck it took me a good week to relearn with working steering.

 

Really hating Schneider this week.... Anyone else told they don't offer training pay for quarterly training? Either way, wasted a whole day at the terminal, with 3.5 hours left on my 14 they sent me to search for an empty and live load it. Needless to say I ran out of hours(22min past the 14) making it back to the yard to park, 5 hours after an OSR reprimanding me for running over my 14. To top it off, I was supposed to be home yesterday, had a load assigned that was in the yard waiting on me, which they withdrew and gave to someone else.
