Can we not use cameras either? I know they said no cellphones or cb's, even the OSR didn't say anything about the camera on my dash

 

It's just best to be safe.

But policy is no use of electronic devices to include cell, laptop or tablet I believe.

0_O what? I generally keep the QC muted so I don't hear the dings and I remember that I should get off the pedal since I'm probably at cruising speed at some point after getting on a highway. That's when I set it at 60. Never heard a thing about it.

 

@ExOTR i got paid for this quarterly training. Not much, but it was there. I've a gps and a dash cam mounted, osr only asked why I didn't get a sat radio as it's the only thing missing and I explained my fascination with audiobooks.

 

No, you are not allowed to take pictures while driving. See Highway to Success page 13-21: "use of cell phones . . . To record video segments or take photographs while you are driving is prohibited "

Dash cam is now more or less accepted under the "SNI is using theirs so why can't a driver use one too?" theory. Taking a pic that appears to be from a handheld device from a position similar to the driver's seat is asking for trouble.
