If they are hiring in Las Vegas there might be a tank wash in the area you can base out of. You can park your personal vehicle when working and your tractor when on time off and basically be based out of a tank wash, you don't have to be near a terminal necessarily. Call and ask a recruiter, you might have to drive a ways to get to a place where you can be based out of if they don't use a tank wash around your area.

able to call GY to see if that load is ready? Has be a simple solution to this. Or rather should or could be a simple solution.
-
We are not allowed to call GY directly. The biggest problem is after hours support not being able to make a decision. There have been times a load was an hour late, support shift told the driver to take it anyways even tho the driver told them it would be rejected. Of course the load gets rejected, then when our DBL comes in she gets ticked off because support told the driver to take it and basically wasted the drivers time and company fuel.
I personally won't take a load if it is late even if support tells me to. I just sit and wait. -
Why is it that trying to work with folks in the office is like pulling teeth, when I have load related problems, I get no response. When I ask questions; I get non-answers. Are they trying to railroad me out? Or is this normal?
-
Depends on which office person you are dealing with. Sometimes it's best to try your luck with someone different, especially when it is support shift. If I get someone clueless on support shift and don't like the results, I'll just call right back up and get someone different. If it's your regular dbl that's the issue then that's something to discuss with the ops manager
and in regards to your concerns about "non-answers", I'd assume that they really don't have any answers at all. -

48Packard Thanks this. -
...sounds like nothing has changed in that department since Jan. 31, 2012. -
Yep, I helped him this time. Normally once the replies start I don't intervene.
Be very careful what you post on the internet. The hills have eyes.
That goes for any forum, blog or facebook.
Okay, carry on!

Those are for Sears store deliveries. Usually to malls that have low clearance docks.
