They asked me what would it take for me to stay. I told them a raise, since its been over 3 years since I had one, and I figured since it is a 500 million a year company that they could spare a few. I guess not.

Jar-Head: Sorry I can't reply to PM yet as I need to post more. Just looking at SNI, but man, I am really impressed with this thread. I am reading from the start of this thread and I am on about page 21 at the moment. I will wait and read entire post, as it looks like all of my questions are being answered as I go. Looks like you have your hands full keeping up with all of the interest here, so won't keep you. Semper Fi Marine

JH, many thanks to you and the other regular contributors (sadwar, DFO, et al) to this thread, lots of valuable information. Clearly you've inspired more than a few drivers to consider the SNI Choice program. I'm getting back into the cab after a four year sabbatical, figured I'd go back to tugging tankers but maybe pulling Choice boxes as an IC makes more sense at 58 years old. Lots to consider.

In an earlier post you said you'd discuss fuel strategy and the associated taxes. Could you revisit that topic please? Inquiring minds want to know!!

Also, do Choice IC's qualify for SNI health insurance benefits? Does SNI contribute to the cost as they do for company drivers? Is SNI's insurance offering competitive with other companies?

Lastly, I live near Syracuse NY. How's the freight in the NE? Would I be stuck here for eternity (dealing with NY/NJ, Boston, Philly, P-burg) or could I route myself out of the NE occasionally (a change in scenery is always nice) and typically get back without too much trouble?

    Thanks again.

    Regards, Bootsie
