Pretty good looking documents. And has far as mechanical work, one would like to think the big work is best done to the professionals, but man, when it comes finding a honest big truck diesel shop & actually being by it when you need it is VERY rare and far and few. Even the fleet repair shops can be krooked, or at the least not know enough or are to lazy to trouble shoot for the smaller problem and just go replacing things, (high $ things). I have one peterbilt I do business with Rush in Texarkana, their good guys, know me by name, stand by their work, have lowered my bill when I didn't have enough cash once, plus our Landstar labor rate there is like $65 an hour. BUT I do recommend buying your own engine diagnostic system (I have an ISX Cummins so I use Insite), it's costly (around $2000 + $500 every year after your first year for registration, at least for Cummins), but will save you a lot in the long run, especially when YOU know what you need to do to fix your issue by following all the troubleshooting fault trees in the software so YOU can go to the shop and know your engine and tell them what YOU need done, and not the other way around. A lot of these shops will be ready to tear your whole engine apart, replace your EGR cooler, EGR tube, Turbo, Turbo Actuator just for a bad back exhaust pressure sensor (ISX engines), but my point is, the more YOU know, the less someone can pull the high $ wool over your eyes :) hope this helps

Not sure what they are telling you but it is HOT right now. Capacity is so tight that many of the major carriers are double booked in most markets and rates are staying strong.

DFW should be a decent local/regional market even if it wasn't so hot.

So is it a consensus that Landstar is the best option as far as better rates go? I'm in Maryland and I'm trying to decide between Schneider and Landstar.
