Schneider Choice Program

See, the choice program is more for guys who are willing to chase the rate per mile, no matter where it is going. If you want to be home on weekends, then it really isn't a board you would want to run. All the good paying freight runs east to PA/NJ/NY/CT/NH and so on.... stuff in and around texas is cheap, along with stuff going out west. If you do not live in the Midwest, expect to avg $1.29 a mile for everything you run total, and to be home every two weeks.

If you live in the midwest like me, you can avg $1.79 and get home often, but you sometimes have to bite the bullet and go away for a while to make some really good money.

This week, I have am running Chicago to Columbus, then to Dallas, and then prob to Denver. I know I will not get anyhting descent out of Denver at all, and prob wind up dh to KS or NE, but for the short week (Tues-Sat) I will gross $4,000 to the truck and none of the loads are over 25k lbs

 

Well I live in Liberal,Ks so taking us-54 down to the southwest I would think I could at least get thru the house from time to time and make decent money. Im fine with going where the money is just was curious how far Id be deadheading to chase down a load from time at home. I know there isnt much in the way of freight right now being a 3 day weekend. I get to sit til tuesday to get my truck fixed at the dealer in Pa right now..lucky me

 

i've been home pretty much every weekend and am still managing a $1.50mi average on all miles. I've had a few long deadheads (my fault) that bring the avereage down. plus coming home every weekend I have about 70 mi dh home and the same back out of the house.


they didn't reimburse me for a $230 lumper fee this week. Do they not reimburse right away or what? it's listed on my statement in the "outstanding paperwork " section


I've also learned I REALLY need to fuel at the yard more. I was paying $3.65 at the yard and $3.85- $3.89 at the truck stops.

idling is killing me. it's been in the mid 90's here. think I may have to get up to the midwest where I can shut the truck off

 

You have to send in the macro 33 for reimbursement for the lumper, and once you get the authorization #, you just send it in with your paperwork or you transflow it seperately

if I lived in TX, i would seriously suggest getting a Tri-Pac ASAP!!! it will save you $30 a day roughly, plus less wear n tear on your rig.

 

Best I can say is that they have loads every week coming out of Dallas going to Denver, and quite a few from Paris, TX going to Salina, KS

SNI does not do much freight in the KS/NE/CO/ND/SD area

 

I did the macro, put the sticker on and sent it in. they deducted it from me but never reimbursed it. guess I have a phone call to make

Hey MedicineMan what truck did you get from LMTL? I got mine from them as well..got the volvo 670..sure wishing I had an apu as well. What sorta expenses am I gonna be looking at weekly with SNI? Getting tired of dealing with the reefer with grocery warehouses and those lovely 3am appointments.

 

i have on 05 columbia. its an ex celedon truck.

your insurance will run 200-300 a month. its not split up evenly. its split up by policy. one week u pay you workmans comp then your phys damage etc etc.

your plates run $33 a mo. untill paid and you pay into an escrow acct untill its full. i forget the amount. $50 or something.

 

Is that all the charge you for then? any qualcomm or other fees? oh and as far apu have you looked into any of the grants they are offering right now? The nite system is electric and lots less than a tradional apu would be. Im thinking of going that route myself.

the nite system will not keep a truck cool down here. i run my cab and bunk ac on full blast and it barely keeos it cool
