I will be starting a N.E. regional dedicated account with Schneider delivering only to BJ’s stores 60% drop & hook 40% hand unload using a pallet jack, averaging 1,700 miles a week I’m being told. Anyone maybe have any info on what I should expect.

Thankfully BJ's Wholesale are pretty big buildings so that's good.

If they aren't paying at least $25 with OT over 40 it ain't worth it.

Is it day or night work?
Ask if you are allowed to take your 10 hour break in the store parking lot or at their distribution centers.
They have big distribution centers in Massachusetts and New Jersey.Last edited: Oct 30, 2024

Normally, it's a bad idea to hire a newbie for a dedicated dollar type store account. BJs isn't one of those. They have big facilities so lots of the problems common to newbies hauling freight for the dollar type stores goes away. Ask the trucking company to have one of their current drivers working on the account to contact you and ask "what is your pay, what is your schedule, do you get paid for detention/waiting", or anything you want to know about. This is BJs Wholesale Club, right?Albertaflatbed, NN Trucker, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -

I was supposed to get a nice hotel room and had one for three days at $350 a night but the company said that was too expensive and found me an apartment the size of a cargo van for $2100 a month.
The girl who set it up said it was supposed to be a two room apartment and it sure was. There was one room for living which the bed barely fit in, and it had a cubby kitchen with a small sink and one burner hotplate, and the other was a closet (smaller than one in a truck sleeper), she also didn't know it had one of the last community bathroom in the entire country down the hall.
Needless to say I wasn't happy, and I returned to the hotel after one night. Not because of the space but because of the Elevated train near by that ran all night long.broke down plumber, Numb, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.
