I only run part time with Schneider, but always get back on the day I want to. If a load is taking you in opposite direction, you call and have the load taken off you. If I need to be home on Friday, I set my last day of work as Wednesday and stick around on Thursday doing local runs around Dallas. The DBL's job is to make revenue and try to avoid letting drivers get so pissed off they quit, your hubby just needs be an ### about his home time. I'm always polite with dispatchers, but I also don't get walked over-employment is always a 2 way street. Schneider isn't stupid, they know drivers have a multitude of other options.

He can make more than Schneider running oil field... Whether hauling crude with companies like teppco or hauling brine from production sites to disposal wells. Starting pay looks low, but running 60+ hours a week with night shift differential would pay more than 2000miles at Schneider. What area of South Oklahoma?

@AllisonFitch Does your husband have all of his endorsements? Most LTL companies will pay significantly more than Schneider and get you home on a more consistent basis, a large percentage are home daily.

They know how to screw drivers, first try to get them vialations, even they pretend to care about safety, only use safty to slander your reference. They keep drivers with serious dangerous driving records, enslave them because no one else will hire them. That is not how you keep the road saft.

I think a lot has to depend where you live and what the driver is willing to do as well..

I don't agree with talking down to Allison and telling her to be an adult. Sounds like they are new to this industry. Unfortunately companies like Schneider prey on people like her and her husband! There are some small companies out there that will treat you a lot better than the Schneiders of the world, but even then it won't be a very good life!

Allison, I understand completely. I've been doing this for over30years, and unfortunately there are no answers in this industry! It's rotten to the core! I would suggest getting out now before you invest any more time . It's not going to get better!

Because thier the ones feeling the brunt
    Of the lies and deceit.
The whole family suffers from these garbage mega
    Companies pulling this crap.

There are a hundred Schneider drivers on this forum
And half of them wear knee pads while in the office.
So if I were him I'd leave my name out of it too.
