I was told Schneider would rather pay 600$ for a hook rather than 1mil for an HOS unlawful death lawsuit.

Simply stating her husband missed home time so the company sucks isn't enough. I think if we dig into the details the SNI drivers here could help them solve the problem. Over the last 6 months we've added several new drivers who post regularly, asking questions and getting advice. One of them started a thread that is already well over 100 pages. Those drivers are doing well and getting home on time because they engaged. They've gotten called out on the stupid, rookie moves they made. The OP husband has been driving less than 6 months. My guess his actions (or lack thereof) are contributing to their home time problems. Is he setting his availability accurately? Is he managing his HOS or burning the 70 on both ends? Most of the new drivers at SNI who are having problems making money or getting home are largely responsible for their own problems. Insufficient training and an OPs staff that is overly focused on performance metrics round out the top three. We can help with all three areas, but only if we get a better sense of the issues. Several of us have contacts in upper management that we can and have used to unstuck problems.
Some of the responses have been out of line. More fall into the questionable attempts at humor that are prevalent on TTR. Others are the stock response to "this mega screwed me" one and done posts. I appreciate you trying to stick up for the OP but you also need to encourage the OP to be more proactive and productive in solving their problems. All sincere efforts of help that I've seen have been blown off, both here and in the OP other threads. -
It is true that if SNI wants to fire someone they will find a reason. It is also true that SNI will work through some major issues to keep those they like. I had a trainee that had 6 preventables in his first year and SNI didn't fire him until number 7. I've also know a guy who was walked out the door for 3 critical events in a 60 day period. It comes down to attitude and perceived potential.MiRig2017 Thanks this. -
Every company use safty issues to control and enslave drivers, with e log, some HOS violations are complete the setting problem, like in the yard driving, some still registered as driving time.the safty DPT become petty rather than finding the real problem.

SNI quaccm GPS will tell you to get off highway, run through town , mess with local traffic, make tight corner turnsb, just to save 3 miles distance. How dump is that?
MiRig2017 and Bosscity318 Thank this. -
That's one of the reasons I'm dead set against these "fleet management systems" companies tie in with their elog. Sorry you didn't like that I just had a "hard braking event". Next time, I'll just hit the sob...at least then I would've done something worth getting written up over.
Friday, MiRig2017, Voodoo Pyg and 2 others Thank this. -
