I'd like too, but no time or dollars. Need to get this done and get out and earn some $$$. Wanted to do new seat and an inverter and fridge but that's going to have to wait. Couple blankets for covers and off I go! Also, the rear bunk heat and ac were not working, they were suppose to fix and didn't. And won't cover that either. Anyway, hopefully the rest is ok and I can just go earn.

The bunk heater might be an easy fix. If it won't even power up, check the connectors at the battery, they like to break there. If it starts, but stops, it probably needs a filter and an igniter. I had to replace both last year. The igniter was easy, the filter, that sucked. But I've now taken the unit apart 3 times, so I have a pretty good idea what to look for now.
It sticks and I completely understand the earning money part
Keep us updated. I'm having one in tx inspected next week by a mechanic. -
It's not the espar that's not working it's the factory bunk heat and air that doesn't work.ChicagoJohn Thanks this.

Check the connections under the bunk at the blower motor. If that columbia is anything like mine, that's a problem spot.

Checked all the connections. Replaced the blower motor and still no go. 5

Nuisance, but keep it in perspective . Once you've sorted the minor issues caused by fleet maintenance and made your sensible improvements you're still not in too deep and you'll have a truck set up for years and years.
I think they're a great deal, and I reckon it'll make a lot of money.Elroythekid Thanks this. -
I don't know man. Lot of trucks on the market that don't need a turbo and manifold on day one. Not to mention a complete set of brakes.
Heck i could be talked into selling mine for a lot less than he paid and its got a relatively fresh overhaul. -
the problem is I need a newer truck to satisfy our customers. A few of our regular good paying customers get regular updates on our average fleet age and new hires and truck age. A couple shippers won't take trucks over 10ys old. So having a 2012 works out for me I can haul their stuff for a while. The 2 things that po'd me were the brakes and leaky manifold. The manifold MAY not have been noticeable when they inspected the truck and the rest of the joint blew out when I brought it home. The brakes are on them, no way they had the wheels off to do safty. I looked and there were lots of linings left, but without taking the drums off you could never see the damage. The turbo was my call. Manifold was off, I could have just put the one gasket in it and put it back together but I had all 3 pieces removed, I painted them and decided on the turbo as it had some end play. It was a judgment call, could last 100,000 and could not. Parts for this thing are sooooo much cheaper than any newer truck I just did it.
The spike, dump valve, and gsuge were "comfort" issues for me, just like having them. 3500w inverter fridge microwave blender and printer. More comfort. The rear heat. They were suppose to fix, they thought I meant the espar, checked it and moved on. I didn't check it when I picked it up, too much of a rush to get the satellite done, they said it was a go.. I guess it's on me. Overall, I'm still real happy with it. EVERY mechanic who looks at it says I got a great truck and I stole it. Time will tell.mladen86 and ChicagoJohn Thank this. -
If you were to buy another truck. Would you buy a scheider and what would you do differently?
daf105paccar Thanks this. -
I would have checked the truck better on pick up and made them fix the rear heat and light switches better. Cancelled the satellite install appointment. The manifold didn't rear it's head until I was on the road. It's a drag you can't test drive them but other than this truck your into an emission truck and I did not want that.
